Sosha Oshaye is a soulful R&B artist whose sound bridges the richness of classic soul with the edge of contemporary urban music. Born Sonya Oshaye Anders and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, Sosha’s musical foundation was shaped early by legends like Andre Crouch, Walter Hawkins, Chaka Khan, Prince, and Tina Turner, alongside the powerful influence of church choir music. That blend of sacred and secular continues to define her signature sound.

Sosha first gained recognition in the Kansas City music scene as a standout vocalist with the collective Unit1, where she honed her range across genres. She later stepped into her own spotlight, forming the all-female group Soul’s Poem, quickly building a strong local following and performing at notable venues in the historic 18th & Vine Jazz District, including The Blue Room and The Gem Theater.

Driven by growing fan demand, Sosha launched her solo career with the single “Haters,” which received radio airplay and set the stage for her debut album, Heavy on My Mind. The project showcased her songwriting depth and artistic maturity, blending R&B, hip-hop, jazz, and funk into a cohesive and emotionally resonant body of work.
