Founded in the 1980s by Chris Ghantous, who made his way to Los Angeles during a time of war in Lebanon, Art & Sign Production Inc. became a beacon of craftsmanship and creativity. Chris built his company from the ground up hand-painting massive art boards and visual displays for the music and film industries at a time before digital graphics existed.
From Tower Records to Virgin Megastore to Disney, his work shaped the visual language of the ’80s, ’90s, and early 2000s an era when every painted billboard was a moment in pop culture. Each piece was a one-of-a-kind, hand-painted installation that blurred the line between commercial art and expression, turning every storefront or rooftop into a living gallery.
That same spirit that mix of precision, creativity, and heart lives on today in our collaboration. Chris’s story continues to inspire the values of Castle Studios: resilience, care, and the relentless pursuit of beauty through honest work.
